What is the test for platelet count?

A platelet count is usually part of a larger test called a complete blood count (CBC). This test measures the number of platelets, white blood cells and red blood cells in a blood sample. “PLT” is short for “platelets” on blood test results.

What is TROPONIN - I, HIGH SENSITIVE (hsTnI) ?

Troponin-I is a protein in your body which is released into the blood when your heart muscle gets damaged. This is seen when you suffer from heart attack. The more damage there is to the heart muscle, the greater is the amount of Troponin-I in the blood. It rises 3-6 hours after the heart attack & remains high upto 5-9 days. It does not rise in non-heart muscle damage. Thus it is a more sensitive test.

Troponin-T is a protein in your body which is released into the blood when your heart muscle gets damaged. This is seen when you suffer from heart attack. The more damage there is to the heart muscle, the greater is the amount of Troponin-T in the blood. It rises 2-4 hours after the heart attack & remains high upto 14 days. It can also be high in certain cases of non-heart muscle damage.
